Static Zero to Nine Display Circuit using 7490 and 7446 ICs

Electronic Kit School. - There are many electronic device using display to indicate some activity or quantity when work. It is look like when we go to the trafict light, we will find that there is seven segment display to show up to down timer for waiting.

It also make many electronic circuit to result display with many device like LCD, 7 segment, dot matric and other. In here we will show you limit display for static 0 to 9 diplay using 7 segment driven by two TTL ICs like 7490 and 7446 look like in Figure 1 below.

Circuit like in Figure 1 above show you about the Static Zero to Nine Display Circuit using 7490 and 7446 ICs. From Circuitstoday site describe that the circuit above is one of the simple 0 to 9 display that can be employed in many applications. The circuit is based on asynchronous decade counter 7490, a segmen segment display (D1), and a seven segment decoder/driver IC 7446.

The usual seven segment display consists of 7 LEDs labelled ‘a’ through ‘g’. By forward biasing different LEDs, which can display the digits zero through nine. Seven segment displays are of two types, common cathode and common anode. In common anode type anodes of all the seven LEDs are tied together, while in common cathode type all cathodes are tied together. The seven segment display used here is a common anode type .Resistor R1 to R7 are current limiting resistors. IC 7446 is a decoder/driver IC used to drive the seven segment display.

Working of this circuit is very simple. For every clock pulse the BCD output of the IC2 (7490) will advance by one bit. The IC1 (7446) will decode this BCD output to corresponding the seven segment form and will drive the display to indicate the corresponding digit.

Circuit like in Figure 1 above show you about the 200-250 Milliwatts Long range FM Transmitter Circuit. From ElectronicsZone site describe that the power output of most of these circuits are very low because no power amplifier stages were incorporated.

The transmitter circuit described here has an extra RF power amplifier stage, after the oscillator stage, to raise the power output to 200-250 milliwatts. With a good matching 50-ohm ground plane antenna or multi-element Yagi antenna, this transmitter can provide reasonably good signal strength up to a distance of about 2 kilometres.

The circuit built around transistor T1 (BF494) is a basic low-power variable-frequency VHF oscillator. A varicap diode circuit is included to change the frequency of the transmitter and to provide frequency modulation by audio signals. The output of the oscillator is about 50 milliwatts. Transistor T2 (2N3866) forms a VHF-class A power amplifier. It boosts the oscillator signals? power four to five times. Thus, 200-250 milliwatts of power is generated at the collector of transistor T2.

For better results, assemble the circuit on a good-quality glass epoxy board and house the transmitter inside an aluminium case. Shield the oscillator stage using an aluminium sheet.

Description

Circuit like in Figure 1 above show you about the 3V6/1W White LED Portable Solar Lantern Circuit. From Electroschematics site describe that this portable solar lantern circuit uses 6 volt/5 watt solar panels are now widely available. With the help of such a photo-voltaic panel we can construct an economical, simple but efficient and truly portable solar lantern unit. Next important component required is a high power (1watt) white LED module.

When solar panel is well exposed to sunlight, about 9 volt dc available from the panel can be used to recharge a 4.8 volt /600 mAh rated Ni-Cd batterypack. Here red LED (D2) functions as a charging process indicator with the help of resistor R1. Resistor R2 regulates the charging current flow to near 150mA.

Assuming a 4-5 hour sunlit day, the solar panel (150mA current set by the charge controller resistor R2) will pump about 600 – 750 mAh into the battery pack. When power switch S1 is turned on, dc supply from the Ni-Cd battery pack is extended to the white LED (D3). Resistor R3 determines the LED current. Capacitor C1 works as a buffer.

Standard Compact 2S LiPo Battery Charger Circuit

With the main or major component used are LM317 and TL431 IC, this circuit can be used to charge almost all standard 2S LiPo battery packs. The circuit, designed around generally available low-cost components, is very simple, safe, and economical.

Description

Circuit like in Figure 1 above show you about the Standard Compact 2S LiPo Battery Charger Circuit using LM317 IC and TL431 IC that give you one reference circuit to build by yourself of battery charger circuit that can be used to charge almost all standard 2S LiPo battery packs

From Electroschematics site that the typical target voltage of a 2S LiPo battery is usually 8.4 V (note that target voltage is not the same as the nominal voltage, which is 7.4 V typical), and LiPo batteries require a special type of charging mode that uses the CC/CV method (constant current/constant voltage) with 1-C charge grade (1 A for a 1,000-mAh battery). However, charging at a lower-than-1-C rate is perfectly safe and will not damage any battery type. The design is optimized for batteries of 1,000 mAh or higher, and the input power source can be any linear/switch-mode power supply capable of catering an output current of minimum 1,500 mA at 18 V. Normally, a LiPo battery connected to this circuit will be charged to 95% of its nominal voltage within 60 minutes and charged up to 100% of its target voltage within two hours thereafter.

Note: Although a balancer is required to maximize energy capability and lifetime of the LiPo battery, most chemistries have shown very little drift and are okay to charge without balancing for several cycles. I will try to publish an add-on LiPo balancer for my LiPo battery charger in the near future.
